hmm... i was wrong about who would be next to leave american idol. nikki, ryan, and justin were the bottom 3. and ryan was voted off. yeah, i was shocked. yeah, i'm also a loser. bird update: they apperantly flew away, cuz they are longer living under my deck. oh well. now i wonder if i'll ever see those deer agan.

7.30.2002

yeah, i haven't posted in days, so here goes... i saw austin powers in goldmember and it was so funny!!! i won't ruin it by giving anything away, that way if you haven't seen it you'll enjoy it. but the intro is mad funny. dixie normous... hahaha!!! this weekend i wanna see either signs or full frontal. i love the type of work that both m. night shyamalan and steven sodenbergh do, so it'll be hard for me to decide. but either way, i know i'll enjoy whichever movie i see. and since american idol was earlier tonight, i'm gonna rate them all so here i go... oh, by the way, i'm calling them all by their first names from now on. in case you didn't know, a.j. got the least votes last week and left. finally, nikki performed and she really delivered. the past couple of times she was on stage, i wasn't too sure of her but tonight she proved herself. ryan did infinitely better than last week. the song she picked showed off her voice without being overdone and not coming out wrong. and my christina was, of course, simply sublime. i don't know what else to say other than that she has a beautiful voice without having to oversing. rj finally proved that he has a right to be where he is. he finally showed that he has a great voice, although i wasn't too sure about some of his on stage gestures. other than that, he did fairly well. i don't think that justin did as well as he's capable of. but there's no way that the teenage girls of america will let him go home. i hate to say it but i think he's gonna win this whole thing. kelly once again did really great. she really does have a great voice and a great stage presence. and last, but not least, tamyra once again sang pretty damn well. but then again, she never has faltered, so this wasn't really shocking. since they all basically did great, this week will be interesting to see who gets the boot. it's hard to say, but if i had to pick i would say that the 3 with the lowest votes will be nikki, ryan, and rj. and i think that nikki will be the one with the least amount of votes. but this is purely a guess, and i'll probably be wrong. we'll see. oh yeah, and i almost crashed into a car the other day on the highway. bye!

i have nothing new to report other than the fact that i've just spent the last 30 minutes here voting for dashboard confessional in order to see that fucking moon man on chris' hand when the video music awards air that night. if you even have a decent taste in music you will vote for dashboard. right now. many, many times until you weep from exhaustion of clickng the mouse button. that is all for tonight.

7.23.2002

last night dashboard confessional performed on the late show with david letterman. good performance. i love saints and sailors. i just finished watching american idol at 10, so i feel it's my duty to critique all of the performances... ahem... once again a.j. gil perormed mediocredly ( is that a word? ) and once again i didn't like him. he's a weak singer and he has some freaky facial hair. i think he shaves in the dark. ryan starr usually does pretty damn well, but tonight she didn't quite have it. i hope she makes it to next week so people can see what she's really capable of. and nikki mckibbin recovered from last weeks choice of song. she was back to her crazy self, although i don't think that her voice could really handle the song that she chose. i definately think that rj helton needs to sing much better if he hopes to win. although i doubt that he has it in him. kelly clarkson easily had the best performance of the night. she's not my favorite, but she totally pulled it off. tamyra gray was also one of the standouts. i don't know what else to say other than she did a great job. i thought that justin guarini's song was decent, but some of the judges didn't think he did so hot. although i agree with simon when he said that he's been outsung by 3 girls. and my favorite, christina christian, had a solid performance. although her voice didn't go quite where it needed to, she definately didn't suck. so that's that, christina will most definately make it through this round, and a.j. and maybe nikki have some worrying to do. i think those would be the 2 that get the least votes. and if there's any justice in the world, a.j. will be gone after tomorrow night. and i'm waiting to see if lauren logs on to launch tamponman, her mascot. i'll wait and see though.

7.22.2002

last night I tried to sign on my screen name, but i couldn't and the stupid thing said invalid password... alrighty... i just got off the phone with aol, and it seems like somebody used a trojan horse virus to steal my password. that explains it. so the lady gave all of the screen names on my parents account a new password, so i changed them all after i finally signed on. hmm... on saturday night I went to see eight legged freaks. it was pretty funny. it kinda poked fun at all those really old horror movies like the blob, or crazy amazon bitches from planet x. ok, so i made that last one up, but you get the picture. on a related tangent, they don't seem to make theater seats like they used to. as i was watching the movie i began to lean back and stretch my arms. and then i heard a snap and i fell backwards. yup. i broke my seat. i'm so grateful that there was no one behind me. well, no one was directly behind me. the people behind me and off to the side began laughing. i promptly moved to the seat to my right and pretended that nothing happened. i don't know how I broke it. if you look to the left you'll see that I'm only 5'6''. and i don't weigh a lot, so that leads me to believe that the seats were improperly maintained. or something like that. this friday austin powers in goldmember opens, and i really wanna see it. i love those movies. also this friday is my orientation at concordia college. that's the college i'm attending in the fall. i'm not nervous, which is good i guess. i just wanna get this over with. oh, and i just remembered that it might be a good idea if i inform all the colleges that i got accepted to that i won't be attending them after all. that might be a good idea. bird update: the other day when I was gonna turn on the water to water the plants i had to go around my house and under the deck, 'cause that's where the dial is. as i'm walking there, i see a bird shoot out from the deck and fly away, but not before chirping really loudly and scaring the shit out of me. i was definately glad i was alone... i wouldn't want anybody to have seen me right at that moment. so i look up, and i saw the 2 baby birds sticking their heads out as if they're waiting for their mother to feed them. it turns out that the baby bird i saw before with its eyes closed was asleep after all. and now i'm gonna take off.

7.19.2002

after yesterday's little deer incident, i thought i wouldn't see any animals near my house 'cause of my demon dog. well, around dinner time when my father was grillin' some burgers, my dog started sniffind the floor of the deck. it just so happened that he found a bird's nest! under our deck! this works 'cause our deck is about 20 feet above the ground, so i guess a bird thought that would be a jazzy place for a nest. we even saw the bird come and go once we went back inside. i saw 2 little baby birds in the nest... only one wasn't moving. i hope it was sleeping. the bird had brown feathers, and its head looked like he had some crazy haircut. there were all these featheres sticking out of its head. and it's, um, chest feathers were red. i don't know what kind of bird that is... they're all the same to me really. here's some more excellent news: i spoke with lauren from pink blood stains last night. she's a cool girl and you should all visit her blog. right now. and i just noticed that she links me back to my blog from her "blogs i read" column. score!!! so yeah check it out. and now i have laundry that i have to do. or rather, i'm gonna stall as long as i possibly can, 'cause i hate doing laundry. i'm the only one that does it. i guess i'm gonna go, but not really go. or something.

7.18.2002

ok like 10 minutes ago i saw 2 deer casually walk into my front yard. i was chillin' on my computer when i saw 2 blurry things walk into the front yard. i put my glasses on and i noticed that they were 2 deer. it had to be the same deer that we all saw 2 weeks ago when i had family from georgia visit. these 2 deer were orphaned because when we saw them last they were in our back yard - alone. and they're practically babies. anyway, we saw the mother dead on the side of the road. you see, my house is at the top of a hill, almost, and we gotta go all the way around so when we drive to the mall we can see our house on the right side as we drive by. but we have a huge back yard. it's like a jungle. anyway, there's a little trail that leads from that street into my back yard, and that's where I saw the mother, lying on the side of the road and se was dead. apperantly someone hit her with their car. moving on, i saw the 2 deer, and i wanted to take some pictures. so i grabbed my disposable camera that i've had for like over a month and snapped the last 3 pictures that were left. they obviously saw me, and i'm guessing that they're brother and sister, 'cause 1 started to run away ( the one i assume is the girl ), but the other stood their ground and started to charge at me ( the one i assume is the boy ). i nearly wet myself, so i ran all the way back to my house, closed the door, went to the living room, and i saw them both return to eat some grass. and then my stupid dog started barking and scared them both away. that dickhead was on the 2nd floor ( that's where my room is ) and he was standing on my bed, looking through the window and barking at these poor deer. i gave him a stern look and he knew that he did something wrong 'cause he kinda slouched and got off my bed. anyway, i looked out my window, and i saw that the deer were long gone. stupid dog... he scared them away. they probably went up the road further up the hill to find something else to eat. well, at least i saw that even though they're fairly young, and without a mother to look after them, they seem to be doing pretty well for themselves. i hope that they *safely* find their way to a nearby forest and live a long life. i felt bad when i saw their mother on the road like that. but i'm holding out hope for them. god, i'm a sucker. well, that's that.

7.17.2002

yeah, i woke up early today. i woke up at like 6:30. damn. ok, so i'm addicted to american idol. and since i can't get back to sleep, i thought i would rate how each person did. ok. ryan starr did fairly well. i like the song that she sang last night. she's got a nice voice and I wouldn't mind seeing her win, but i don't think people will gravitate to her in mass droves and vote for her. i hope i'm wrong though. rj helton did mediocre. i don't like his voice a whole lot. and i think his head is a weird shape. i really liked nikki mckibbin's performance. although she's usually more crazy, she was more restrained this time around. but i still liked her performence. it was very nice. ejay day's voice absolutely frightened me. he has to be the biggest guy there, but he's got the highest voice out of anyone else. it's kinda disturbing. i hope he doesn't win, 'cause i wouldn't want to listen to his voice on the radio, or ever again actually. tamyra gray has got a great voice. i think she'll go far if she keeps getting the crowd excited like she did. justin guarini was fairly good. i don't like his hair, 'cause it's just disturbing. but he's got a good voice. jim verraros did, well, incredibly horrible. i don't know what he must've been going through, but he choked. his voice wasn't where it needed to be. he's definately gone. i thought kelly clarkson was good. i don't know if she's got what it takes to win the whole thing, but she just might. a.j. gil did fine, i guess. it didn't seem like he was trying too hard. he'll be gone after a couple of rounds. or maybe sooner. christina christian was really good. i love her voice and she's currently my favorite. i truly hope that she kicks some ass and wins the whole thing. so yeah, that's that. generally, i thought the guys were so-so while the girls really did great. i got my favorite and i hope she wins. yeah, i've successfully proven that i'm a loser by spending all this time and getting the links, and saying how i felt about them. ok, well, i'm starving so i think i'm gonna get something to eat.

7.14.2002

last night i saw reign of fire and it fucking rocked my socks!!! it was so incredibly awesome!!! it's definately now one of my favorite action movies of all time. it was just so awesome. matthew mcconaughey, christian bale, and izabella scorupco were all pretty good in it. yeah, it was defiantely great. and for whatever reason i actually wanna see eight legged freaks when it comes out on wednesday. i dunno, it kinda looks like a good time or something. i just finished watching the tiffany true hollywood story. it wasn't like i expected it to be. i really wanted to see her atone for her past sins. like that travesty of a song i think we're alone now. or just her career in general. but she didn't do that. oh well. at least she's all washed up and forgotten by one and all. and i just finished downloading the weezer video keep fishing. i saw like 3 seconds of it today, and i had to download it 'cause the god damn muppets are in it!!! it's really cool. i like the song, even though i'm not really a big fan of weezer. they're all right. they're no dashboard, that's for sure. i guess that's all. i'll take off now.

7.11.2002

today i went all the way down to harrison, and i hung out with my friends cara and toni. we went to the westchester, which i hate, then we went to the galleria, which i don't hate. we had fun. and i started this book called hobo: a young man's thoughts on trains and tramping in america, by eddy joe cotton. it's quite good so far. i've also been playing jet grind radio for the dreamcast a lot lately. that game is sooooo much fun!!! i've also realized that when i speak to people i'll say things that i think are true, but they end up turning out to be lies. it's not that i lie about things for fun, i really think that i'm telling the truth when i say something. so from now on i told my friend cara that i'm just gonna say the opposite of what i'm gonna say, that way i don't lie. yeah, something like that. and i wanna see reign of fire. it opens up this weekend and i really wanna see it. christian bale is in it. He was is american psycho and i hope he tears shit up in this new movie. and xxx opens soon, and i wanna see that as well. ok, i'm gonna go. and here's a test:

My insulting name is Labialips Cheap lazy faggot!
What's yours?

yeah. that's that.

7.10.2002

yeah yesterday i went to the mall and returned that game. i used the money i got back to buy the book hobo, by eddy joe cotton. it looks really cool. i'm gonna start it soon. i also bought the royal tenenbaums on dvd and i watched it last night. it was very good. um... i just woke up so i'm actually having a hard time typing, and since i have nothing else to write... i'm also having breakfast. 3 ferrero rocher chocolates and an iced vanilla frappuccino from starbucks. what a healthy breakfast.

7.08.2002

this weekend some family from georgia came up to visit. it was cool 'cause i haven't seen them in like 2 years... something like that. but they also brought up my cousin clayton that i've never met before. i'm glad they brought him 'cause he's a really cool guy. he's 24 years old. yeah. so anyway, i couldn't believe how nice he was 'cause this is the same cousin that was in a gang when he lived in arizona, has been in jail many times, did drugs heavily, and nearly got his whole family killed when he tried to leave the gang that he was in. i couldn't believe that he's the same person. i'm glad that he's made such a turn-a-round ( I'm not sure if that's a hyphanate or not ). well, he's moving to clearwater, fl sometime after the new year and he told me that i should come visit him in his new place 'cause he's gonna live right at the beach. i definately will take him up on his offer. and saturday was his birthday, so it was perfect that they all got here on that day. too bad they only stayed saturday and sunday. i also saw men in black II on friday and it was soooooooooo funny. you should go out and see it. i also bought roller coaster tycoon for my computer, but the expansion packs aren't compatible with my version of windows. i have the new version, windows xp. so now i gotta return it. the stupid box doesn't say that the expansion packs aren't compatible with xp. all it says that the minimum requirements are windows 95/98. dammit. yeah, and i also want the new nextel, the i95cl. i saw it on saturday when me, my cousin, and my brother went to the mall. now all i gotta do is come up with $400. i just hate my phone. i wanna trade it in. i have the old i1000plus and i've wanted to trade it in for the new model of the i1000plus in silver, or the i90c. but I have no money of my own. i have a credit card that is in my name, but under my parents account, so they pay that bill. i really don't think that they would appreciate a $400 bill on the credit card statement for a cell phone. oh well. i'm bored now, so I'm gonna go.

7.05.2002

ok, i've been downoading all the live performances by dashboard confessional that i can get my hands on. i've been basically using kazaa like crazy. i already downloaded the best deceptions that he performed when he was on last call with carson daly last month. i've also downloaded the good fight that he did on mtv unplugged and it's soooooooo good. the picture quality on that one is so great that you can see chris perfectly. i definately love that song. right now, i'm downloading screaming infidelities that he performed on the conan o'brien show. i only wish that he would perform this bitter pill somewhere so i could download it. that's my favorite song that he sings. the other day i got my report card. as expected, i failed the physics regents. i got a 30 on it! hahahahahahahaha!!!!! but my final average ended up being a 65, exactly what i needed to get to pass for the year and get credit for the class. i don't know if i got all the right numbers to pull it off, or if my teacher bumped my grade up after figuring out all the quarter averages ( my quarter grades were 71, 73, 68, 76 ) and the midterm ( that i failed with a 53 ) and doing all the calculations and figuring out the pecentages that each 1 is worth. but either way, i got credit for the fucking class, and I'm never gonna have to deal with physics ever again. my friend, who shall remain nameless... ok it was cara. she paged me on my nextel and told me that she went to mamaroneck to watch the fireworks and shit, and afterwards some small scary drunk gremlin mexican came up to her and almost molested her. so she ran away and when she told me this, i thought it was the funniest thing that i've ever heard in my life! she's definately the 1st person i've ever known that this has happened to. i really wanna go see men in black II tomorrow night. err... later tonight, i guess. anyway, it looks really funny and i loved the first 1 so i really wanna go see the second 1. oh and i bought the starship troopers dvd the other day. i really love that movie. it's so great. hmmmm... i'm reading this book called glue, by irvine welsh but i really can't read it. the book takes place in ireland, so naturally all the characters have irish accents. but the author wrote those accents into the actual book. so there are word like 'dinnae' and 'intae' and 'tae' and other such words. anyway, i come up with character voices and any accents that they have in my head. i can't actually read them when they're down on paper. i don't know why that is. i really wanna read it 'cause it seems like a really good book, but i just can't do it. i might have to buy a new book next time i go near a book store. and my friend justin is making a blog. he's been making it for days, and keeps saying that he's not done. i told him to post the damn thing already, and to send me the link. but he hasn't done that yet. and i told him like 25 minutes ago. that bastard... well, that's about it. i think i'll go to sleep now. oh yeah... happy independence day, although it's a little bit on the late side, but whatever.

7.02.2002

ok, so whoever has been reading this blog since the beginning... ok, who am i kidding? amanda, this only applies to you: after 4 months of looking, i've finally done it! i finally was able to find a picture of laurence thoms. score!!! i thought it would've been easier to find a picture of the only professional alpine skier from fiji, but this was a monumental task that, as you just read, toook 4 god damn months to finish. ok, well I wasn't online for almost 2 months 'cause of my phone line not working and all, but still. i've been looking for a picture of the guy for what seems like an eternity. i pretty much gave up, but i typed his name one last time on yahoo and i found the site with his picture. now i can finally put a face to a name. well, that's it really.

7.01.2002

yesterday my friend christina had a graduation party and i went. i had a good time. i just watched the last dvd of buffy season 2. now i can't wait for season 3 to come out. i wish it was coming out sonner than this winter. oh well. i'm gonna take off.
